Pasadena Humane is stepping up to help its four-legged community members affected by the multiple wildfires burning in Los Angeles County. In a Jan. 8 release, the shelter shared that it has taken in over 300 pets displaced by the blazes. "We are starting to see many animals coming in with burns and injuries. These animals are being treated in our ICU. We are providing them with pain medications, wound care, fluid, and oxygen as needed," Pasadena Humane shared in its release. Pasadena Humane shared that it is working with shelters across California to transfer healthy animals so its shelter has more room to take in pets affected by the L.A. fires. Pasadena Humane is the closest to the Eaton Fire, located east of Los Angeles in Pasadena and Altadena. The fire has grown to cover an estimated 10,600 acres since starting on Tuesday.
